The great battery debate - which energy storage technologies are leading the charge?
The power profile of the data center is unique; the desire for safe, efficient, and low-carbon operations is not. Whilst enormous advances have been made in battery R&D in recent years, finding a chemistry that is practical and best aligned to the power requirements of mission-critical applications remains a challenge.
This panel will explore some of the market-leading battery chemistries - lithium ion, alkaline, nickel zinc - as well as thermal, electrical and mechanical categories of energy storage, and the hurdles to adoption, predicting which will prevail and why.
