Fireside Chat: Chips in 2022 - what's happening and what's on the horizon?

It’s been a turbulent couple of years in the chip industry, with the shortage unlikely to go away anytime soon. However, with the democratization of chip design, fuelled by the decoupling of design and manufacturing and the maturity of EDA, there remains fierce competition in the industry which is likely to increase.

In this episode, it will be considered how these trends are likely to impact data centers for the rest of 2022 and beyond. The future of the chip industry looks uncertain, exacerbated by geopolitical tensions between Taiwan and China. Will acts such as the $280bn Chips and Science Act stabilize this, or will new fab companies ever be able to compete with TSMC? And how can data centers protect themselves from a shortage of supplies and rising prices?
