DUG McCloud case study: The challenges of delivering an award-winning 15MW HPC data center
The overarching driver of this facility was to produce a cost effective, state of the art high performance computing center, capable of meeting the needs of producing the highest quality seismic processing services for the oil and gas industry. DownUnder GeoSolutions "McCloud" Project was completely designed in-house, and the DUG 250 Petaflops, 15MW High Performance Cluster is entirely cooled by complete liquid immersion. The challenge the design team faced was to optimise return on investment for the facility, primarily through maximising space utilisation.
In this presentation the winners of the DCD Global Awards 2019 Enterprise Data Center Design Award will share how the entire design team, including architects, structural, mechanical and electrical, came together to fully utilise the space available, and create one of the world's greenest data centers. Hear how this innovative and groundbreaking design sets new benchmarks for efficiency, time to market and power density.
