Former OVH Data Center Technician here! Fact: OVH Data Centers do not have 24/7 Data Center Facilities Technicians On-Site. The INFRA Team is charged with power and cooling aspects of the Data Center, however they only work 6AM-5PM. After that a single Data Center Technician becomes your Facilities Engineer. Every server has a hot water-line and a cold water-line. So if you have a host with a CPU and 8 GPUs it has 18 water lines inside it. That's 36 points of possible failure. The water-line and unions they use are off the shelf manufactured by Parker fittings. They can't handle the temps or poor water quality and fail regularly. So if a host at the top of rack has a coolant failure it takes out everything below it before someone notices and repairs leak. The water feed system is in the back of the cabinet along with the host power supplies and PDU distribution strips. If OSHA got access into where the actual servers are they would shut this place down. An outside safety contractor was hired to give us lessons on how to properly climb a ladder to do our job. We started talking about the server rooms and she looked lost. I asked her, did they let you tour the Data Center before giving this safety lecture? No was her honest response. Only DC operation that I know of that doesn't have 24/7 Critical Facilities staff on-site and this is water-cooled facility. Every ambient-cooled DC I've ever been in has a Critical Facilities Engineer on-site 24/7. Trust me OVH is a 3rd rate Data Center at best a ticking time bomb.
