I can't believe this is even being considered in a drought ridden area. I have been on allocation for water for over 2 years just to irrigate my property and you are talking about 0.5million gallons of water a day for cooling. I am also concerned because this particular Data center will be built right across the street for my dream home in the country. The noise from the first Data center has been terrible with all the construction. I bought land and a home in the country for peace and solitude, now I get to look forward to noise and eye sore development all around me. This is all for the sake of increasing the tax base and making a few people very wealthy. Harlingen's water may not be threatened but what about Rio Hondo water? All of our water comes from the same water shed and think this will be a grave mistake to approve this development. I also don't understand why we are looking towards a UK developer either. My understanding is these data centers are going to be used to store data that is of national security as well. So why outsource the development if this is approved?
