This response-time mismatch is something I think deserves considerably more attention as rack densities increase.
One implication is that steady-state supply temperature becomes a less complete indicator of cooling-system health. Looking at load, flow, ΔP, valve position, pump response and temperature together can tell us much more about whether the system is actually responding as intended.
The interesting question for operators may become less “did temperature remain within specification?” and more “did the hydraulic system respond the way we expected it to?”
