British data centre operator Node4 has acquired London-based cloud provider Premier IT Networks, which specializes in services for the privacy-conscious customers in the legal and charity sectors.

Premier IT Networks is an ISO27001 accredited company and an approved user of the Criminal Justice Secure Email Service. This service allows people working in the Criminal Justice Service and those working to prevent crime — including public, private and voluntary organisations — to secure ‘restricted’ emails. The company is also a member of the G-Cloud procurement framework which supplies the public sector with cloud-based products.

The financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

The cloud that fights crime

Premier IT Networks’ legal clients include the criminal chambers ’25 Bedford Row’ and ’9–12 Bell Yard’, while charity clients include Breast Cancer Now and Prostate Cancer UK. Peter Bodley-Scott and Thales Tsailas, who founded the business in 2008, will continue to be actively involved in its day-to-day operations.

All Premier’s employees will continue working from its London office, albeit under the Node4 banner. All services currently provided to customers will continue and Premier’s clients will be able to get full access to Node4’s portfolio of cloud computing, colocation, network connectivity, telephony and communications services.

The acquisition strengthens Node4’s geographic presence, vertical sector reach and IT expertise, supporting its plans for further growth, said CEO Andrew Gilbert.

“We are gaining a team of IT experts who share our values and customer-centric approach to business,” he added.
