CyrusOne announced major colocation data center capacity expansion in Texas, including completion of an expansion project in Houston and start of one in Carrollton.

The company has started construction of an additional 60,000 sq ft and 6MW of data center capacity in Carrollton.

At full capacity, the facility is expected to have 400,000 sq ft of raised floor, about 60,000 sq ft of office space, and up to 80MW of power.

CyrusOne's senior VP of design and construction, John Hatem, said, “Due to strong customer demand for our data center product offering, we made the decision to add 60,000 sq ft of colocation space with 6MW of critical capacity to this facility.”

CyrusOne has also completed a project to add 42,000 sq ft and 6MW of power capacity at its Houston West II data center. The facility has a total footprint of 160,000 sq ft with the ability to hold up to 18MW of critical capacity when fully built out.

The company broke ground in March for the Houston West III data center which, upon completion, will include 428,000 sq ft of raised floor, 86,000 sq ft of office space and up to 96MW of critical load.

The third facility will increase CyrusOne's data center capacity available at the Houston West campus to more than 1m sq ft.

The company has 25 data center facilities in the US, Europe and Asia.
