First announced in February 2022 and located in the Whitefield area, the 80,000-square foot (7,430 sqm) BLR-1 facility can support up to 4MW and is built to Tier III standards. At full build-out, the site will offer 20MW across 110,000 sq ft (10,220 sqm).

Nikhil Rathi, Web Werks founder & CEO, said: “Web Werks' Bengaluru data center will cater to the increasing demand from hyperscalers and enterprises. We look forward to providing our new customers in South India with reliable and scalable colocation, cloud, storage, and network services. The addition of this data center is part of our national expansion and we are grateful to the government of Karnataka for their support.”

Iron Mountain formed a joint venture with Web Werks in 2021 to develop data centers across India. Web Werks currently has data centers in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Pune, and Delhi, with an upcoming facility in Hyderabad.

The company first signed a memorandum of understanding with the local government of Karnataka for the data center in July 2021.
