Datacraft, a subsidiary of Dimension Data based in the Asia Pacific, is on track to hold one of the largest portfolios of Tier-certified data centers in the world, with six Indian builds planned for Tier III certification this year.

It recently received Uptime Institute's Tier III certification for five of its onecloud data center designs for the India market and has a sixth one planned for later in the year which is also positioned for a Tier III rating.

Datacraft India is in partnership with Indian telecommunications provider BSNL and working with Emerson Network Power on its designs, which have to prove 24x7 availability, with no downtime due to equipment or maintenance replacement to receive the Tier III rating.

Datacraft Asia COO Dilip Kumar said Datacraft will manage the facilities, built for colocation, hosted and cloud and managed services, mostly for the government and public sector.

Emerson has been commissioned to design, as well as supply infrastructure components for the future six facilities, whose total footprint will be about 66,000 sq ft.
