A number of Microsoft services, and the platforms that rely on them, suffered a multi-hour outage on Thursday.

Among the services brought offline were Microsoft's Bing search engine, Copilot, and ChatGPT's Internet search. Search engine DuckDuckGo was also broken.

The outage appears to have primarily affected users in Asia and Europe, throwing up 429 HTTP code errors.

Services have now resumed, Microsoft said. "Our efforts to understand the root cause of the issue are ongoing," the company said in a Friday status update.

Broader Microsoft Azure services were not impacted by the outage.
