Stulz, one of the data center industry’s most popular cooling brands, has added an in-row cooling solution to its portfolio.

CyberRow is appropriate as a primary cooling solution for small and medium-size data centers, or for spot cooling in large facilities. Stulz offers both chilled-water and direct-expansion options for the product, promising cooling capacities of up to 73kW per unit.

David Joy, VP of sales and marketing at Stulz, said the solution further expanded its already comprehensive cooling portfolio. “Now, more than ever, the data center owner has the opportunity to maintain temperature and humidity control local to their IT equipment,” he said.

The solution is compatible with a wide variety of data center configurations. It can be installed in raised-floor environments as well as in data centers with overhead cooling.

It offers flexibility in capacity control, including adjustable electrically commutated fans, or variable-speed compressors on the direct-expansion (DX) units.

The chilled-water option is available now, while the DX version will be on the market several weeks from now, Stulz said.

The electrically commutated fan is a Stulz innovation. The fans do not rely on incoming line voltage, which enables them to provide precise airflow rates. They offer variable-speed capability without using variable-frequency drives.

DX medium options include air, water or glycol. Stulz offers CyberRow with front discharge for contained configurations and side discharge for open-aisle ones.

The units can be installed in the middle or at the end of a row and integrate seamlessly with most BMS platforms, Stulz said.

The product adds an in-row solution to the company’s cooling portfolio that has until now included only perimeter and overhead solutions.
