It looked like a great idea at the time – not just consolidate nine, one-day regional-market events to three much larger-scale two-day events – but do it at the same time as we launch a brand new event in partnership with CeBIT. And I forgot – also send our CEO George Rockett and a team to the Open Compute Summit in San Jose.
It was hard to conceive, as I joined the throng of delegates who packed out every seminar, solution stage and keynote, that this was a launch event. But then DCD does events like no others - with content and great speakers at their heart.
DCD Enterprise USA was designed as the ultimate knowledge and networking platform for senior data center end-users and operators dealing with increasingly complex mission-critical enterprise environments. The multi-track conference program had presentations from the industry’s most forward thinking practitioners and is a reference point for the data center market, while our exhibit hall convenes today’s top technology and solution providers.
The new security tracks were standing room only with delegates learning from the most sophisticated practitioners on the planet.
The response to the event, from sponsors, delegates and visitors was unequivocally positive. There were more banks out on the floor of the conference keen to spend their money than there were left in the echoing trading floors of Wall Street. Well, almost!
The event was packed-out and the exhibitors on the floor of the Marriott Marquis hotel were delighted at the specific gravity, volume and spending power of the organisations who milled around their booths.
