Mattel has launched the first 5G trial in Mauritania, in partnership with Chinese vendor Huawei.
The operator says it has been able to achieve download speeds of 2Gbps.
It's not yet known when Mattel plans to launch a 5G service, nor where the 5G trial has taken place.
Mattel was the first operator to launch in the West African country back in 2000. It was bought by Telecel Group last year, for an undisclosed fee, from its owners Tunisie Telecom and Comatel .
