Indian data center operator CtrlS is building a new data center in Hyderabad.
The company this week unveiled plans for its Hyderabad DC3 data center in the Gachibowli district of Telangana state. Spanning 130,000 sq ft (12,080 sqm), the six-story facility is expected to have a capacity of 13MW at full build-out.
The facility is expected to launch within two to three months and will be earthquake-resistant and flood-proof, said the operator.
Sridhar Pinnapureddy, founder and CEO of CtrlS Datacenters, said: “Hyderabad is one of the largest data center markets in India and holds strategic significance because of the presence of a large number of enterprises, cloud service providers, and being one of the most preferred locations for hosting disaster recovery services, as it lies in seismic zone-2.”
At the end of last year, the company announced plans to invest $2 billion over the next six years in expanding across Asia and the Middle East.
The company already has two data centers in Hyderabad - DC1 and DC2. The DC1 facility offers an IT capacity of 4MW across 1,152 racks, and DC2 7.4MW of IT capacity across 720 racks. Together, the facilities span more than 270,000 sq ft (25,000 sqm).
CtrlS Datacenters also operates facilities in Mumbai, Bangalore, Noida, and Kolkata, with Edge locations in Lucknow and Patna.
Earlier this year, CtrlS announced it had broken ground on its 72MW Chennai facility.
The company has more than 234MW of existing IT capacity and has planned developments in Uttarakhand and Gujarat, India. The company is also working on a 150MW campus in Thailand.
STT, Tata Communications, and Iron Mountain all have data center facilities in the Hyderabad area.
