Construction has begun on Colt Data Center Services' (Colt DCS) third Frankfurt data center.
This facility is set to provide 32.4MW of IT capacity and is located "strategically close" to the company's existing Frankfurt data center.
The facility will have direct access to DE-CIX and will, like all Colt DCS data centers in Europe, be powered with 100 renewable energy.
"We understand the imperative to provide digital businesses in Germany with the data storage and scalability they need to serve their customers optimally," said Richard Wellbrock, VP of real estate at Colt DCS. "Germany's robust digital infrastructure, supported by a dependable power grid and sophisticated telecommunications network, reinforces our commitment."
The data center will accommodate liquid cooling and high-density rack layouts, as well as hybrid cooling solutions where needed.
Colt DCS completed the fit-out of another of its Frankfurt data center - Frankfurt West - in August 2023. Frankfurt West has 25MW of capacity across 14 data halls.
The company also has the "Frankfurt City" data center which offers 2.4MW of capacity.
