UK-based modular data center company BladeRoom is taking its product to the US market, with a new partnership and a contract already signed for a facility that will be live in January next year.

BladeRoom has already built data center modules for customers on three continents, with customers including Ark Continuity for its data centers in the UK and Metronode in Australia.

The modules have traditionally been manufactured in the UK and then shipped to location but BladeRoom is now also assembling its data centers in the US.

It has partnered with Rosendin Holdings subsidiary Modular Power Solutions which provides factory assembled facilities in the country as well as mission-critical electrical services for its local assembly line which will be based in a new technology center in Chicago, Illinois.

The company's US operations will be called BladeRoom USA.

BladeRoom has so far delivered 29 of its modular data centers to the market. All feature its innovative cooling design which uses ambient and evaporative cooling 100% of the time, depending on the climate, but has a N+1 mechanical DX cooling unit for backup to meet Tier III requirements.
