Temple, a small city in the middle of Texas, is set to get its own data center - courtesy of the newly established Bitmova, LLC.

The facility will be located in the Temple Industrial Park - a development that already hosts a variety of logistics and manufacturing businesses.

The company is planning to spend nearly $8 million on the project over the next five years, and expects to create 56 new jobs.

The project has enjoyed full support of the Temple Economic Development Corporation (Temple EDC), which awarded the company a land grant.

“Welcoming Bitmova, LLC to Temple further diversifies our industry base,” Temple EDC Vice President Charley Ayres said. “Bitmova will create high wage jobs in a highly technical job, with a significant level of capital investment in our local economy.”

Bitmo-what?

Bitmova seems to have been founded in June 2017, and there’s currently no information about the company’s aims, or whether it is building the data center for its own use or for third parties.

According to the press release, Bitmova runs “online platforms” and its areas of expertise include robotics and VR. The release also mentions Berberry, a brand of video transcoders developed by an eponymous company headquartered in Miami.

The upcoming data center is slated to occupy an 11-acre tract of land near the intersection of IH-35 and Loop 363 in northwest Temple, and will also host something that sounds like a startup accelerator.

Temple itself is located 39 minutes north of the Austin Metro Area - and its two million inhabitants.

“Temple EDC is a great partner, and Temple is a fantastic location,” stated, Behrouz Movahhed Nouri, CEO of Bitmova.

“Temple Industrial Park offers a unique opportunity to develop a state-of-the-art data center on a site that has access to low cost, reliable power, infrastructure in place, an excellent network of roads and an available skilled workforce.”
