Semiconductor company Analog Device Inc (ADI) has announced it will be deploying SambaNova Suite to support generative AI use cases throughout the company.
The SambaNova Suite is an enterprise-scale, full-stack generative AI solution that can be deployed on-premises or in the cloud.
It is powered by the SN40L, a fourth-generation chip launched by SambaNova in September 2023. Manufactured by TSMC, the SN40L can serve a 5 trillion parameter model, with 256k+ sequence length possible on a single system node.
In the first phase of its deployment, ADI will use the SambaNova Suite to improve field sales and customer support by streamlining access to data sheets and providing more informed recommendations in the field.
“ADI is synonymous with innovation, and we have a legacy of technology leadership in bridging our physical and digital worlds for the benefit of our planet and its people,” said Alan Lee, chief technology officer at ADI. “We achieve this by collaborating with our customers, providing them with technical expertise, support, and resources to help them overcome their toughest challenges. We are working with SambaNova Systems, pioneers of cutting-edge AI solutions, to rapidly deploy their enterprise-scale generative AI platform toward enabling our customers’ success.”
SoftBank selects SambaNova
Founded in 2017, San Francisco-based SambaNova has raised more than $1 billion from investors including Google Ventures, Intel, SoftBank, and Singaporean wealth fund GIC.
Other SambaNova customers include the Argonne National Laboratory, Hungary's OTP Bank, the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, and the RIKEN Center for Computational Science (R-CCS) in Japan.
In December, the company announced SoftBank had selected SambaNova DataScale for inclusion in the computing platform the Japanese multinational was building for the development of generative AI. The platform is set to be one of the largest computing platforms in Japan for LLM training.
DataScale is an integrated hardware-software system that enables companies to run artificial intelligence, deep learning, and foundation model workloads.
“SoftBank announced its long-term vision to provide next-generation social infrastructure essential for the development of a digital society in May 2023,” said Hironobu Tamba, data platform strategy civision head – technology unit, SoftBank. “To advance this long-term vision, SoftBank is constructing a computing platform for the development of generative AI. The addition of SambaNova’s innovative technology to this computing platform will enable us to accelerate our innovations.”
