Data Center Resource Effectiveness (DCRE) is a holistic metric based on the effectiveness and interrelationship of resources consumed by data centers. The DCRE scoring methodology incorporates a multilevel framework of multiple factors: facility energy efficiency, water usage and climate zones. The DCRE metric also introduces Water Usage Impact (WUI), which is a proxy factor created to consider the effect of facility water consumption in relation to Water Stress in the area.
The DCRE metric is structured as a multilevel maturity framework and scoring methodology which can be used to raise environmental awareness and effective resource use management in the data center.
In addition to the DCRE Metric TGG has also released the DCRE Scoring Calculator.
The DCRE Scoring Calculator tool was created to support the implementation and understanding of the metric, as well as foster continuous resource effectiveness adoption by industry.
