Extended lead times for transformers, chillers and substations are reshaping capital planning and forecasting, while hyperscale-aligned designs and global compliance standards are exposing gaps in local manufacturing and engineering localisation. Yet equipment sourcing is only one part of the challenge. Installing high-density AI infrastructure equipment and commissioning 100+MW blocks requires specialised skills, robust test-load infrastructure, and an ecosystem maturity that is still developing. The debate is whether India’s end-to-end execution pipeline, from factory output to live operations, can meet hyperscale AI infrastructure expectations without compromising quality or timelines.
