Martien is Global Director for Mission Critical Facilities at Royal HaskoningDHV, an independent consultancy which integrates more than 140 years of engineering expertise with digital technologies and software solutions.

Martien is working with more than 300 data center multi-discipline colleagues from different continents on the most challenging projects across the globe.

Throughout the years, he has received growing recognition as an expert in the data center industry and project advisor with a strong focus on clients’ business case and technical innovation. He is continually innovating to enable data centers to run more sustainably, effectively and efficiently, with increasing reliability.

Rowan has over 35 years experience in planning, design, implementation, commissioning, and lifecycle performance management of critical facilities. Rowan started working in Data Centres as a Facility Manager for a multi-national corporate DC, and migrated that facility between Sydney and new premises in Melbourne, before settling into roles to deliver Data Centres to clients around the world, with a focus in Australia, New Zealand, and SE Asia.

He now has over 460,000m2 new build and extensions plus power system upgrades of over 230,000m2 of live Data Centres to his name, for major clients including Equinix, DCI, IBM, Global Switch, NEXTDC, Woolworths, Optus, AAPT, Unisys, Metronode, NextGen, and PacNET.

Rowan is an Uptime ATD Professional, CPEng (Aus), and licensed Electrician. He is actively involved with various professional organisations including the Open Compute Project, IEC, and Standards Australia.

Rowan is based in Canberra Australia.
