In June 2026, DCD Intelligence and DCD Academy conducted a global survey of 161 respondents across the data center industry, targeting data center operators and focusing on workforce trends.

The survey aimed to take stock of the industry’s staffing levels, recruitment initiatives, expansion strategies, and training access and quality. The survey also looked to identify how AI and automation have impacted the workforce, especially with regards to its effect on headcount and its effectiveness in improving efficiency.

This survey report analyzes these responses and provides insights into how the data center industry workforce is changing in the midst of meteoric industry growth.
