Data center developer and provider of wholesale colocation space Stream Data Centers has bought a new fully built data center in the Denver, Colorado, area for an undisclosed sum.

The facility was built and commissioned in 2006 by a Fortune 500 insurance company, according to a Stream news release. The 29,500 sq ft building includes 10,000 sq ft of raised floor and 7,500 sq ft of disaster recovery office space. It is available for immediate occupancy.

Anthony Bolner, senior vice president at Stream, said the facility gave enterprise users an opportunity to quickly deploy data center operations and expand gradually. "We are very excited about this acquisition and the opportunity to immediately enter the Denver data center market with an asset of this quality," he said in a statement.

The data center is designed for about 1.12MW of critical load but its power and cooling infrastructure can be expanded further. The facility features 2N electrical infrastructure and N+1 mechanical. The cooling system includes water-cooled centrifugal chillers and plate heat exchangers. Free cooling available about 60 percent of the year.

The data center has two fiber feeds and access to multiple network providers.
