Australian technology and hosting organization Red Cloud has signed an agreement with Cannon Technologies to deploy its T4 range of modular data center solutions to power its Data Centre Parks expansion across Australia.
Red Cloud is investing in 11 data centers across Australia, which will provide combined data center space of 1m sq ft. The company said it is aiming to pursue a disruptive business model, directly targeting wholesale customers with energy-efficient, carrier and technology-neutral data centers.
The first facility built under the expansion project is due imminently according to Red Cloud. The Garry Henley Data Centre Park, located in the Bibra suburb of Perth, Western Australia will become fully operational in Q1 2015. A further two sites will be operational by Q3 2015.
Cannon will provide all of the Data Centre Parks with its T4 Modular Data Center (MDC) Pods. The pods can be deployed quickly and will enable Red Cloud to offer its customers a flexible colo option.
Red Cloud will also use Cannon T4’s advanced Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) software to provide its customers with remote control and monitoring, driving efficiency, resilience, reliability, and security.
Red Cloud CEO Carl Woodbridge said the company had ‘quite the shopping list’ when it came to choosing a partner for its modular data center solutions.
"We need to provide clients with a blend of cutting edge efficiency, truly granular incremental growth, high security, and expansion logistics without compromising the high resilience required by their operations," Woodbridge said.
Red Cloud said it required an ‘unusually’ broad range of solutions for it to satisfy every type of client need at every Tier level.
