Surajit Chatterjee

Managing Director, Head of Data Centres - India, CapitaLand

Surajit Chatterjee is the Managing Director and Head of Data Centre, India at CapitaLand Investment (CLI), where he has played a pivotal role in conceptualising and leading the establishment of CLI’s data centre platform in India from the ground up. Under his strategic direction, the business has grown into a robust portfolio with a planned capacity of 240 MW across India’s key digital infrastructure hubs — Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Chennai.

A strong advocate for future-ready and sustainable digital infrastructure, Surajit has been instrumental in integrating advanced technologies such as liquid cooling, energy-efficient systems, and resilient design frameworks across the data centre landscape.

With over 26 years of experience in the IT, telecom, and infrastructure industries, Surajit has held leadership roles across organisations such as Sify Technologies, Tata Communications (ST Telemedia), Tulip Telecom, and HCL.

Surajit graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Delhi University, India. He holds a Master’s degree in Marketing Management (MBA) from AICTE, Delhi University, India and attended the General Management Programme at IIM Indore.
