DCD editor Penny Jones talks with APC by Schneider SVP of Innovation Neil Rasmussen following his talk at DCD London in which he argued that new physical demands could spell the end for traditional raised-floor cooling.

Rasmussen launched his idea at the event alongside a new cooling economizer product unveiled by APC by Schneider Electric. Rasmussen says servers themselves can be used to guide the flow of air in a data center and that with the right containment, the need for raised floor cooling (which 90% of data centers sit on) can be eliminated.
