Data Center Consultant

After graduating from Eastern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics, Steve completed postgraduate courses in Engineering Physics while commencing an aerospace career. He served as a NASA contractor in multiple roles, including systems integration during the International Space Station design phase, Space Shuttle microgravity experiments which flew on STS-42, STS-47, STS-50 and STS-52, mission planning for the initial Shuttle-Mir flight, and technology peer reviews for the first group of Discovery Satellite Program research proposals.

Steve later changed careers from aerospace to information technology, focusing exclusively on datacenters for the last 15 years, while developing a multi-faceted experience base including design, operations, mission critical facilities, structured cabling, fiber optics, telecommunications and networking. He joined Facebook Facility Operations (FacOps) in a key role to integrate facilities networks (switches, cabling, electrical, mechanical, controls) for greenfield build sites at all US & Europe datacenter campuses. Most recently, Steve was a Microsoft Senior Technical Program Manager for 100G/400G network infrastructure deployments for Azure Eastern US & LATAM regions and deployment efficiency refinements to global engineering processes & scaling automation.
