The Generative AI boom we witness today will bring a massive shift in data center capacity planning. The fact that GPU’s require 10-15 times the energy of traditional CPU’s, has an enormous impact driving the industry and capacity planning forward in the coming years. Not only when you consider rack densities up to 50KW or more, but also when you think about water usage and data center power requirements. And this is happening whilst we’re at the same time on a path to 24/7 hourly matched renewable energy usage by 2040.
