In its press release, Telkomsigma called out the widespread practice of data centers obtaining design certification (TCCD) to bolster their claims of a Tier-certified facility, but with no follow-up attempts to get the corresponding constructed facility certification (TCCF).

Telkomsigma pointed out that the TCCD is a merely a certificate for the design concept of any given data center, and that only the TCCF badge offers validation that the actual construction and implementation of the facility was done in accordance with what had been previously approved.

The TCCF is only awarded following an inspection of the facility by external auditors, which involves the data center successfully passing various failure simulations and other tests.

According to Judi Achmadi, CEO of Telkomsigma, the TCCF certification proves that its data center was built in accordance with the standards of Uptime Institute. He added that the investments for the setup of its data center was fully supported by Telkom Indonesia.
