EkkoSense, a global leader in the provision of AI-powered data center optimization software, will showcase the latest release of its EkkoSoft Critical software at DCD New York, taking place at the Marriott Marquis, Times Square, from March 18-19, 2024.
EkkoSense’s EkkoSoft Critical AI-powered optimization software eliminates thermal hotspots – helping to improve data center site resilience and enable operations teams to gain early insight into potential issues before they become critical.
EkkoSense’s AI software also delivers quantifiable reductions in cooling energy usage - ensuring quantifiable carbon savings to support corporate sustainability and ESG programs.
"We're excited to introduce EkkoSoft Critical’s new capabilities at DCD New York,” said Paul Milburn, chief product officer for EkkoSense.
“With features such as Cooling Anomaly Detection, new 3D Objects, and embedded ESG Reporting, EkkoSoft Critical empowers organizations to optimize thermal, power, and capacity management while simplifying sustainability reporting.”
Cooling Anomaly Detection focuses on drift from control set-point and uses the data that EkkoSoft Critical collects from M&E equipment performance such as CRACs to alert any abnormal changes in performance.
The next stage is to remotely diagnose the likely cause of any abnormal performance, helping data center operations teams to move beyond traditional reactive monitoring to a more proactive maintenance approach.
The latest EkkoSoft Critical software version also enhances visualization with the addition of new 3D objects to cover liquid cooling, direct-to-chip cooling, external cooling plant, and power.
Additionally, the software’s unique embedded ESG Reporting facility will dramatically simplify reporting for operations teams. The software's embedded real-time compliance reporting delivers precisely the kind of evidence-based sustainability and ESG metrics that are essential for meeting ISO standards and complying with reporting regimes such as the EU's forthcoming Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the EC Energy Efficiency Directive (EED).
"We're solving an industry challenge with highly effective real-time embedded ESG reporting solution," explained Dean Boyle, CEO of EkkoSense. "With EkkoSoft Critical, organizations can access granular performance data and streamline reporting processes, ultimately driving operational efficiency and sustainability."
Attendees at DCD New York are invited to visit EkkoSense’s booth to learn more about EkkoSoft Critical 8.0 and experience its cutting-edge features firsthand. Book a demo with Steve Lewis, Travis Talcott or Matthew Farnell to see how EkkoSoft Critical works for yourself and gain valuable insights into optimizing data center operations and ESG reporting.

DCD Podcast - How to face up to regulations, with Venessa Moffat, EkkoSense
Data centers in Europe face a stack of new regulations. That may turn out to be a good thing, says Venessa Moffat

Podcast Episode Episode 48 - How to face up to regulations, with Venessa Moffat, EkkoSense
Europe has an Energy Efficiency Directive, Germany has an Energy Efficiency Act, and operators there can be fined for inefficiency.
Meanwhile, Amsterdam has declared war on sleeping servers, and set limits on where facilities can be built.
Across Europe, in response to congested electric grids and shortages of land, local governments are stepping in to regulate data centers.
Sometimes they want them to be greener, sometimes they want them to be quieter, and sometimes they just want them somewhere else. But any data center operator now has to be prepared to meet new reporting requirements and talk to the local authorities about their business.
This is not a bad thing, says Venessa Moffat, head of channel partner manager EMEA Europe for Ekkosense. It's about time those discussions happened.
People who run cities need to understand the businesses that are located there - and from those discussions, new partnerships can emerge.
