Colocation provider Telehouse has appointed Kenkichi Honda as its new European managing director.
Honda assumed the position at the beginning of this month, taking over from Takayo Takamuro.
Honda was formerly the director for the Toyota business at Telehouse’s parent company and Japanese telecoms provider, KDDI. KDDI and Toyota have collaborated since 2016 to create a communications platform that supports car connectivity.
Honda also served as senior director of KDDI’s Belgium and America sectors.
The company said Honda brings experience across the telecommunications, data centers, and connected car industries.
Honda said: “My commitment is to build on our strong foundations as a leading connectivity provider to advance strategic initiatives and deliver exceptional value to our customers and stakeholders.”
The departing managing director, Takayo Takamuro, was appointed in October 2022 and leaves to become the European Bloc chief at KDDI Europe. Takumuro will take over from Seigo Fukuhara, who is becoming an advisor to Soracom, a subsidiary of KDDI.
The company said Takamuro will continue as a member of the board of directors at Telehouse Europe.
Founded by KDDI back in 1989, Telehouse has data centers in London, Frankfurt, Istanbul, Paris, Marseille, Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Singapore, Tokyo, Bangkok, Los Angeles, New York, and Toronto. The company acquired three data centers from Allied Properties in Toronto, Canada, last year.
