We talk about tax breaks, efficiency standards and the Dell/EMC merger

This week on White Space, we start with a story about big tax breaks for a data center and co-generation plant in Delaware, which might not actually get built due to resistance from local residents.

There’s news from EMC World in Las Vegas, where everyone wanted to know about the Dell-EMC merger but no one could talk about it. The event saw plenty of new products announced, like the Virtustream Storage Cloud and the range of flash storage arrays for smaller data centers called Unity.

We also talk about a new fiber ring in Ashburn, Virginia – probably the data center capital of the world - built by USA Fiber.

Meanwhile ASHRAE has once again issued a call for comments, as it attempts to shape the data center energy efficiency standard affectionately known as ‘90.4P’.
