Data center automation investments will grow over the next couple of years, and more unusual locations were being found to host data centers. The Datacentre Leaders' Awards, the industry's most prestigious awards were presented to the best innovators and leaders in the industry at a gala ceremony in London in December.

November: Technology: Data center automation market to hit $15 billion in two years research found. GDCM upgrades nlyte management tool. HP adds functionality to its Thermal Logic portfolio. Citrix Systems ships Netscaler to raise data center application efficiency. IBM is taking on the computational fluid dynamics market with EMEA roll out of mobile measurement solution. Eaton ships power management software and new cables. Corning's FutureCom S500 Shielded Copper RJ45 Module ships.

US: Microsoft to build 20 mega data centers - report. A report in BusinessWeek Magazine cited an un-named Microsoft staffer as saying that the company planned to build 20 mega data centers. The company did not confirm the story.

Europe MEA: Qatar Airways outsources data center operations. Nuclear fuel factory was reborn as a data center. A building in Hanau, Germany, originally designed to produce nuclear fuel was reborn as a data center.

Vodacom opens $10 million Johannesburg data center
Corporate: EU Code of Conduct launched on November 18th with the EC looking for companies to sign up and to endorse the voluntary code. Terremark reveals buy out offer in second quarter results. DatacenterDynamics Focus Magazine launches on Tuesday 11th November 2008 at DatacenterDynamics London08 Conference. Emerson calls for industry wide "energy to compute" metric for data centers. New build data center investment will rise in 2009.
