Data center colocation services provider Telx has added about 70,000 sq ft of space to its data center at 60 Hudson – a major New York City carrier hotel – increasing its capacity in the building by about 70%.

To expand in the building, Telx took space from DataGryd, a wholesale data center provider that owns four floors of the building, where it has renovated electrical and mechanical infrastructure. DataGryd's current total power capacity at the site is 27MW.

Telx operates the largest network-interconnection area in the building. It provides access to more than 400 network carriers, ISPs and enterprise networks, as well as access to financial-services networks at Google-owned 111 8^th Ave., which is another major carrier hotel in Manhattan.

With the additional space at 60 Hudson, Telx now has 620,000 sq ft across six facilities in the greater New York and New Jersey area. The square footage the company provided is gross square feet, which means not all of it is actual data center space.

NYC1, the 60 Hudson data center, leverages Telx's connectivity environments at both the NYC2 data center (111 8th Ave) and the newly established NYC3 data center (32 Avenues of the Americas).

The company also has a data center campus in Clifton, New Jersey.
