Carrier-neutral colocation provider Telehouse has launched a direct connectivity service that links its data centers in the US with infrastructure from major public cloud providers.

CloudLink is a ‘connectivity exchange’ that allows existing colocation customers to purchase and manage access to services like AWS, Azure and Google Cloud Platform through a dedicated private connection.

Last month, the service was introduced to Telehouse data centers across Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Telehouse is the data center subsidiary of Japanese telecommunications giant KDDI. It owns and operates 48 data centres worldwide, offering colocation, managed services, connectivity and system integration.

CloudLink is a new service that aims to simplify hybrid cloud deployments and improve quality of access to public infrastructure. It enables customers to provision virtualized private direct connections in a range of bandwidth options through a dedicated online portal.

Telehouse previously made CloudLink available in its data centers in London, Frankfurt, Paris, Moscow, Istanbul, Cape Town and Johannesburg.

Now the service is also available from two data centres in New York (Chelsea and Stanton Island) and Los Angeles (626 Wilshire Blvd).

“Cloud computing has become a necessary requirement for many of today’s enterprises,” said Aki Yamaguchi, COO of Telehouse America. “After its success in Europe, we’re very excited about the launch of Telehouse Cloud Link in the US, as it enables fast, easy and secure cloud connectivity for all of our customers.”
