Saskatchewan telecoms company SaskTel has opened a new data center in Saskatoon, Canada.

The 24,000 square foot (2,229 sq m) Tier III certified facility is now fully operational, and includes 9,650 sq ft (897 sq m) of data hall space that could be expanded to 30,000 sq ft (2,787 sq m).

The new facility adds to the company’s existing 31,088 sq ft (897 sq m) of data centers across six locations - four in Regina, two in Saskatoon.

SaskTel brings in more than $1.2 billion in annual revenue, and operates roughly 1.4 million customer connections, including 617,000 wireless accesses, 389,000 wireline network accesses, 273,000 Internet accesses and 111,000 subscribers to its TV services.
