Pulsant has added a new hall to its data center in Croydon, South London - one of fourteen locations in the England and Scotland operated by the UK-based provider. 

The new Hall 7 adds 400 sq m (4,300 sq ft) to the SL data center, allowing up to 200 more racks. It was opened on 21 April as part of a £20 million upgrade project.

Expansion drive 

“The construction of Hall 7 is just the latest step in our plan to expand the capacity and services delivered from our South London data center site to include eight purpose-built data halls, bringing the total area to 3,300 sq m (36,000 sq ft),” said a statement from Matt Lovell, CTO, Pulsant.

The SL facility is “Tier 3 equivalent” and has 24 hour on-site security, ISO 9001, 14000, 27001, 22301, Cyber Security Essential, CSA Star and PCI DSS accreditation. The new hall has Eurobond insulation. It will be offering Cloud Connect which provides direct access to Microsoft Expressroute and AWS DirectConnect.

Pulsant has been expanding since it was refinanced by Oak Hill Group in 2014. It bought Onyx Group in 2016. The company began in 2011, when Brigedpoint, a service provider addressing the mid-market rebranded, having previously bought providers including Lumison, Scolocate and Dedipower.
