UK IT services provider Logicalis has launched a new data center in Slough. The company will use its new 10,000 sq ft facility to provide hosting, managed services and its cloud-based offerings.

Each of the new data center's two data halls features 2N electrical infrastructure and offers 4kW, 8kW, 12kW and 32kW per rack options. The company says the variety of power-density options gives customers the flexibility to mix and match low and high-power equipment for more efficient capital use. The facility takes advantage of fee cooling.

"Customers don't want to compromise business reliability, and therefore the co-location of management, development and data centre facilities allows customers to mitigate the risks from rapid deployments, migrations and service construction," Logicalis CTO Simon Daykin, who was the new data center's architect, said in a statement.

The facility is adjacent to the company's existing data center in Slough, called Managed Service Centre. Logicalis also has development and pre-staging labs at the same site, where it offers its customers ability to build, configure and test their systems before deploying them in a live environment.

In addition to its UK location, Logicalis has facilities in the US, Germany, South America and Asia Pacific. Its annual revenue exceeds $1bn, according to a company news release.
