Data center service provider i/o Data Centers has offered more details about its modular and portable data center solution it first announced at the DatacenterDynamics conference in San Francisco on July 16.

The product, called i/o Anywhere, will come with 100 percent of required mission-critical infrastructure, including power conditioning, cooling, network connectivity and redundant power generation. The system is tied together by i/o OS, the provider's fully integrated operating system for data center monitoring, alarming, remote control and management.

"It is no longer necessary for customers to buy power, cooling, and network connectivity ahead of known requirements or in a location that is not ideal," i/o CEO George Slessman said in a statement. "i/o Anywhere gives enterprise customers the ability to deploy operational data center capacity wherever and whenever they need it, in or out of a building, on or off the utility grid."

The containerized solution is scalable to tens of megawatts of power and thousands of cabinets. i/o says it can be configured, delivered and operational within weeks. The provider will manage the patent-pending i/o Anywhere, offering 100 percent uptime service-level agreements.

i/o is targeting the platform at enterprises, government agencies and service providers.
