HP said its board of directors has appointed five high profile new members, making its leadership 17-strong.

Former CIO of General Electric Gary Reiner, former CEO of Alcatel-Lucent Patricia Russo, CEO of AXA Private Equity Dominique Senequier, former president and CEO of eBay Meg Whitman and CEO of Booz &Co Shumeet Banerji,  are now part of the board.

It is expected board numbers will fall again, however, to 13, when the board sits for the company's AGM in March.

Martiz stands down as President, stays CEO
Paul Martiz is handing over his Presidency of VMWare but will still act as the EMC-owned company's CEO.

Martiz' place will be replaced with four co-presidents, all senior VMware staff, including VMware chief development officer Richard McAniff, COO T. Tod Nielson, CFO Mark Peak and executive VP of worldwide field operations Carl Eschenbach.

Paul Anderson takes on global portfolio
Capgemini's Paul Anderson, previous programme director for infrastructure, has been promoted to the role of Global Head of Data Centre Hosting.

Anderson, who became known for overseeing Capgemini's building of its Merlin data center in the UK, will now have responsibility for 27 data centers across eight nations, overseeing planning and large-scale infrastructure projects.

Anderson has voiced his passion for sustainability in the data center with FOCUS in the past. He will be based in Capgemini's Edinburgh office.
