Open source is disrupting proprietary systems, providing companies with greater flexibility and opening up more options for data center cross-stack design, which is accelerating us towards the promised land of the fully automated, software-defined data center.
However is it the right move from an economies of scale standpoint? Is such adoption necessary or is the enterprise better of with different technologies such as the widely popular hyperconvergence approach?
