Data center and peering service provider CoreSite has secured two new clients for its Washington, DC data center that cater to the financial service industry.

Economic news service providers Need to Know News and Rapidata provide low-latency data to high-frequiency trading firms, investment banks and other organizations that use high-speed financial market data. Both have taken space at CoreSite's Washington facility, located about one mile away from the US Department of Labor, Department of Commerce and Department of the Treasury ÔÇô all federal sources of data that influences the markets.

David Dunn, CoreSite's SVP of strategy and marketing said in a statement that the two new firms make the site more attractive for players in the electronic-trading space.

"The addition of Need to Know News and Rapidata, combined with the proximity to fiber routes and Government agencies makes our Washington, DC colocation facility an ideal location for trading firms, investment banks, and other economic news providers," Dunn said.
