Telehouse has extended its New York International Internet Exchange (NYIIX) to new locations through carrier service provider IX Reach.

The NYIIX can now reach beyond New York City, thanks to a reseller partnership between Telehouse and IX Reach which began in February 2015. The NYIIX can take advantage of fractional port offerings using the IX Reach points of presence (PoP) in five locations throughout North America.

Additional locations

Customers who have been using the NYIIX service in New York can now also make use of fractional port offerings in Ashburn VA, Boston MA, Chicago IL, Dallas TX, and Toronto ON. The partnership allows the ease of use for connectivity that NYIIX has built their business model on to apply across these additional locations provided by IX Reach.

Akio Sugeno, vice president of internet engineering, operations and business development at Telehouse sees the advantage provided by the additional locations as one of allowing customers greater flexibility and efficiency: “Now that NYIIX can be accessed from interconnection hotbeds other than New York, a significantly greater number of networks can gain value from neutral peering and cultivate ecosystems more effectively.”
