Marking its 15th anniversary DatacenterDynamics has relocated its annual flagship event to Old Billingsgate Market in the heart of the City of London on 1st and 2nd November. This year, DCD is producing an exclusive, end-user focused event that tackles head-on the challenges of provisioning digital infrastructure for the Zettabyte Era.
“This venue is set to host a radically new type of conversation around cloud and data center transformation,” says George Rockett, CEO & co-founder, DatacenterDynamics. “Delegates are asking for more intimate knowledge exchange opportunities and an environment where they can breakout with their peer groups more easily. The Old Billingsgate Market provides just that.”
New format drives digital transformation debate
Each morning of the event, the conference will begin with a ‘data blitz’ - a series of TED-style lightning talks – that include multiple on-topic perspectives from leading international experts. These sessions will be hosted on our special stage in the Old Billingsgate Vault; formerly an actual data center.
Between the morning coffee break and lunch we will host more traditional thought-leadership seminars in a concise 30-minute format. The afternoon will be given over to the Big Discussions – an exciting new interactive debating format that tackles the biggest challenges this sector faces as we approach 2020.
Content focus areas will include:
- Building new or upgrading existing data center facilities
- Architecture and implementation of private and hybrid cloud models
- Bare metal, open hardware, software-defined adoption
- Devolution from owned-infrastructure to Everything-as-a-Service
- Extending mission-critical beyond the walls of the data center to the edge
With strong support from the Open Data Center Alliance, the Open Compute Project, the Green Grid and other major industry organizations, the two-day agenda includes a number of specially devised workshops to help senior cloud and data center infrastructure strategists stay up-to-date with the latest technology innovations and solutions.
Attending DCD Europe’s Zettastructure
Designed specifically for IT decision-makers from organizations that run data center-scale infrastructure, attendance is limited to 2,000 delegates this year. Pre-registration numbers are already reaching volume with early indication that the event will be heavily over-subscribed, therefore we urge qualified end-user/operators to apply for complimentary passes (under DCD’s new attendance model) as soon as they have cleared their calendars.
