Andrew Dewing

Data Center Consultant

Andrew is a consultant specialising in DC design and operations. He has seen the development of the DC industry from its earliest days to the vast industry it has become today. He has worked in the industry for over 25 years and has managed design, delivery and construction of large DC projects across three continents. He is an electrical engineer and a Fellow of the Institute of Engineering and Technology. He also has an MSc in Climate Change and Sustainability.

His experience is predominantly Client side having served in Technical and Operations Director positions for major colocation companies for most of his career. He also has experience of design consultancy at Director level covering all aspects of DC delivery from pre-planning through to final testing and commissioning and commencement of operation as well as management of day to day operations.

He has extensive experience of design and analysis of critical systems, system reliability, energy usage and assessment, design, failure mode and fault analyses, site evaluation and integrated performance testing. He also served on the Technical Group TC215 that developed the original BSEN50600 standard for DCs.
