Enterprise-class cloud software and service provider Virtustream has selected US-based bandwidth infrastructure services provider Zayo to provide fiber connectivity to its data centers in London.
Through the deal, Zayo will provide fiber routes into each of Virtusteam’s data center.
The diverse routes will enable Virtustream customers to connect to Zayo’s London dark fiber network – currently spanning 252 route miles in the London Market.
Zayo will also provide managed WDM services between Virtustream’s data centers and Telehouse East.
Virtustream’s managing director for the UK and Israel Luiz Vianna said Zayo’s focus in network capacity in London and Slough was an excellent choice for its customers.
“In addition, their extended reach in Europe allows for growth as we continue to expand our services into these key markets,” Vianna said.
Last month Zayo acquired London-based Geo Networks adding a further 2,100 route miles to its European network.
Geo has a 100 route mile London network house in the city’s Victorian sewer system.
The project is expected to finish in Q3 2014.
