Avoiding Legal Risk from Open Source Landmines

Open source products form the backbone of most of our businesses. Unlike proprietary code, however, open source shifts many legal risks from the creator of the code to the user of the code. Although traditional software licenses can be difficult to understand, open source licenses pose a unique set of analytical problems. In this introductory level talk, David will discuss how the use of open source changes your legal risk status, beginning to understand open source licenses, and establishing a license compliance framework in your business.
