In May 2018 Alphabet introduced its TensorFlow 3.0 AI processors with chips so powerful that for the first time they had to introduce liquid cooling in their data centers. They saw an eight-fold improvement in performance. Bitcoin miners are already converts. But what will it take for immersion and direct-to-chip cooling to get into the mainstream data center?
