The Critical Power Channel

Exploring the interconnection point between the data center and the grid

The data center industry, as well as other heavy industries across the globe are pushing their renewable agendas in the face of climate change. In order to meet sustainability goals it is integral for data centers to diversify their energy supply to drive the move to green energy. However the data center industry cannot rely on the grid to do all the heavy lifting.

This broadcast will explore the steps data centers are taking to source greener energy, whilst also highlighting the proactive steps businesses are taking to support the grid. By looking at all things to do with power supply, this series will explore the potential for bi-directional energy flows between data centers and the grid, highlighting opportunities for grid participation. Critically we will explore what sort of technologies need to be invested in to aid in these trends, whilst ensuring that data centers have secure energy supplies to withstand market shocks.
